10 OF THE BEST INGREDIENTS USED IN MALE ENHANCEMENT SUPPLEMENTS

Male enhancement supplements have a long history of improving the sexual performance of men all over the world. Whether the issue is difficulty engaging in sexual relations due poor stiffness of the male sex organ, low sexual drive, or delayed sperm release, these potent and effective supplements have a variety of ingredients that are proven to combat these difficulties, including the following 10:

Tongkat Ali
Butea Superba
L-Arginine
Tribulus Terrestris
Maca Root
Xanthoparmelia Scabrosa Extract
Horny Goat Weed
Muira Puama
Damiana Extract
Korean Red Ginseng

Each of these ingredients are staples in male enhancement supplements due to their consistency, quality, and effectiveness over time. Here is more about them.

TONGKAT ALI

Eurycoma Longifolia Jack, known as Tongkat Ali, Malaysian Ginseng, or LongJack, is an herb that may support fertility and sexual drive through its aphrodisiac properties. This ingredient has a wide range of evidence supporting these properties, though efficacy varies. In addition, Tongkat Ali may have stiffness-enhancing features for the male sex organ that also lower estrogen. This substance's aphrodisiac properties and increases in sperm production may provide substantial effect in humans. Tongkat Ali may also delay sperm release and boost stiffness strength through its use of a natural metabolite.

The ratio of extract for a standard dosage of Tongkat Ali is derived from the eurycomanone within. Single double-blind studies or those with several cohort studies have shown that Tongkat Ali may be effective in lowering stress by 16%, boosting stiffness strength as stated by self-reports, and increasing sexual drive approximately 8.4 - 10.8%. Finally, Tongkat Ali may also enhance the motility of semen by 44.4% depending on the user’s baseline measurements.

BUTEA SUPERBA

Butea Superba, known as Red Kwao Krua, is an herb that is often used in Thai medicine. Butea Superba should not be confused with the female equivalent, Pueraria Mirifica, which is known as White Kwao Krua. As White Kwao Kruo targets estrogen it has the opposite effect of Butea Superba, though they look similar. Butea Superba is used to increase the vitality of men and as an aphrodisiac. Studies have shown that activation of the compounds that target male hormones are directly triggered by Butea Superba and may stimulate the growth of the male sex organ and the enzymes in the liver. Low doses are recommended for humans, according to studies.

Relaxation of the male sex organ has been shown through a minimum of two studies. When given a moderate dose of Butea Superba extract for three months, most participants reported “fair or excellent improvement” from their previous sexual functioning.

L-ARGININE

L-Arginine is an essential amino acid that produces nitric oxide. L-Arginine may dilate the blood vessels due to its activation of nitric oxide. This allows more blood to flow through the body and into the male sex organ, which may lead to a larger and stiffer male sex organ. In addition, relaxation of the muscles of the male sex organ may occur when nitric oxide combines with GMP and forms cGMP, which will promote higher levels of stiffness as more blood is allowed into the unfilled spaces of the male sex organ.

When paired with L-Citrulline, L-Arginine may be even more effective at increasing blood flow and boosting the size of the male sex organ. Multiple studies that have a minimum of two double-blind and controlled groups have been conducted to show blood flow may be increased due to the activation of nitric oxide. All of these factors may contribute to the growth of the male sex organ.

TRIBULUS TERRESTRIS

Tribulus Terrestris is a versatile herb that was first discovered in Ayurveda. This plant is used for a variety of purposes including the enhancement of male vitality, virility, sexual drive, testosterone, overall health, and decreases in stress. Many of these benefits may be due to Tribulus Terrestris’s ability to boost the density of receptors in the brain that target male hormones. In addition, it is possible that a specific component of Tribulus Terrestris may provide support for the heart which may lead to greater stamina and sexual satisfaction.

Pertaining to dosages, when a 60% of a specific component of this extract is involved, benefits in sexual drive may occur, though this varies with the number of these component and the percentage of extract.

Multiple double-blind studies that included a control group have shown that testosterone boosts are most often seen in infertile men while lowered blood pressure may be found in those with hypertension.

Single double-blind studies have shown Tribulus Terrestris could provide enhancements in the rigidity of the male sex organ which will boost performance, delay the release of sperm, and enhance orgasms.

MACA ROOT

Maca Root, also known as Peruvian Ginseng or Lepidium meyenii, is well-known for its aphrodisiac properties. Its most-often cited place of origin is Peru. This plant affects both genders and may enhance sperm production and the health of the prostate.

Multiple double-blind studies that include a control group have shown that Maca Root may provide boosts in sexual drive after ingestion which may also be related to increases in stiffness of the male sex organ. In addition, overall well-being and sexual function have been noted in single double-blind studies.

XANTHOPARMELIA SCABROSA EXTRACT

A lichen, Xanthoparmelia Scabrosa, is found all over the world. Xanthoparmelia Scabrosa is used as a Phosphodiesterase-V (PDE-5) inhibitor. PDE-5 consumes cGMP quickly which can interrupt the process of developing a stiff male sex organ or stop it before it is allowed to begin. By inhibiting PDE-5, Xanthoparmelia Scabrosa may delay flaccidity so the user can remain erect for longer periods of time. When combined with vasodilators, Xanthoparmelia Scabrosa may provide greats boosts in the duration of the male sex organ’s stiffness.

HORNY GOAT WEED

Horny Goat Weed, scientifically known as Epimedium and informally as Yinyanghuo and Fairy Wings, is an herb that is known for improving rigidity and sexual drive through its aphrodisiac properties and PDE-5 inhibition. Its use originates in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It may also be known as Icariin, which is one of its active ingredients. Icariin is a compound that produces much of the aphrodisiac properties that this herb’s name was based on.

In addition, Icariin may produce large and strong male sex organs with stiffness that is easier to maintain. Depending on the user's weight, testosterone boosts may be seen when higher dosages of Icariin are taken.

MUIRA PUAMA

Muira Puama, scientifically known as Ptychopetalum Olacoides or Uncinatum and informally as Potency Wood or Marapuama, is a highly effective aphrodisiac. There is a similar plant called Mucuna Pruriens that may look the same, but is not, so care should be taken to ensure the correct plant is considered. In addition to its increases in sexual drive, Muira Puama may also improve cognitive functioning.

DAMIANA EXTRACT

Damiana Extract, usually known as Damiana Leaf, is derived from the Tunera Diffusa plant. This is often used as an aphrodisiac and may have the ability to heal physical pains. Damiana Leaf comes from Central and Southern America and is often drank brewed. It may increase free testosterone, leading to enhancements in sexual performance and endurance.

Damiana Leaf complements many other ingredients in male enhancement supplements to boost sexual drive for many hours. Due to its ability to be brewed it also may increase relaxation before sexual encounters.

KOREAN RED GINSENG

Korean Red Ginseng, or Panax Ginseng, is one of two “True Ginsengs”. There is another, American Ginseng, that is grouped among these two, but it is not actually a Ginseng. Korean Red Ginseng is well-known for its boosts in mood, endurance, cognitive abilities, and the prevention of illness. It also may provide enhancements in the male sex organ’s strength and overall testosterone.

The increases in endurance that may accompany usage of Korean Red Ginseng might also lower stress which may reduce fatigue. As stress lowers it may be easier to become stiff and maintain this rigidity. In addition, the refractory period, the time between orgasms where sexual arousal is nearly non-existent, may be shortened due to less stress.

These ingredients operate on multiple levels to produce the myriad of benefits that are expected from male enhancement supplements. Each one has been included in a variety of studies to demonstrate their effectiveness and safety. Purchasing a supplement that includes these ingredients is a worthwhile investment in the sexual health of your relationship and your overall satisfaction.
